Surfing School

Certified surfing instructors will teach you everything you need to know about surfing, equipment, weather conditions and safety. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never seen a board, or if you don’t know how to put on a wetsuit.



We offer individual or group surf lessons, so that everyone can learn at their own pace in a friendly atmosphere. Our surf instructors will guide and accompany you by sharing their experience and skills. They will teach you the basic techniques, safety at sea, and give you tips to progress quickly according to your level.

A surfer's paradise

Located in one of the best surfing cities in Europe, our Surfing Academy allows everyone to experience surfing.

Peniche is one of the biggest surfing spots in the world, and the host for over 10 years of a stage of the MEO world championship. You can experience the spirit of freedom and competition by learning to surf at our surfing school. RIDE is located only a few hundred metres from the beach. You will have with you the best teachers and quality equipment to discover the pleasure of surfing. We offer lessons from beginners’ to advanced levels. Transportation to the best spots in Péniche, Baleal (depending on conditions), and the complete equipment is included in our courses.
Beginner
For those who have never surfed before, or who have surfed a few times, but still struggle to stand or paddle. (Available daily)
Intermediate
If you can stand up, paddle on your own and are comfortable catching waves uninterrupted, this group is for you. (Available daily)
Advanced
Advanced surfers should be self-sufficient and able to select a wave and take off. Students will learn how to improve their take-off on a wave, how to turn in time, how to gain speed, and how to make better turns and cutbacks. (Available daily)
Private lessons
Get a private surfing instructor and make the most of it! Available for all levels of surfing, our private lessons are perfect for those who want to improve their skills or want faster results. (Up to 3 people per lesson. Available daily - on request)

Surf Spots

Different spots with consistent waves all year round

Peniche has dozens of surf spots that work in all kinds of winds, swell sizes and tides. Beach breaks and reef breaks, we have it all. The most famous is Supertubos, one of the best beach breaks in Europe.

Location

Close to the beach and away from the stress

Ride Resort is located in Baleal, only 400 metres from the beach. The geography of Peniche offers solid waves all year round, on several different beaches within walking distance.

Drying Room

Clean, dry and comfortable wetsuits everyday

Every day, our surfing instructors will take care of your wetsuit after class. They will wash and hang it in our drying room, so that it is completely dry and comfortable to wear the next day.
