Buddha Eden

Located in Quinta dos Loridos (Bombarral), just 30 km from Peniche, Buddha Eden is the largest oriental garden in Europe. Covering 35 hectares of land, this incredible garden is an open-air gallery with more than 200 sculptures and statues, surrounded by the shade of 1000 palm trees. Óbidos

The picturesque village of Óbidos is one of the oldest medieval cities in Portugal. Just 25 km from Peniche, an amazing and well-preserved castle lies inside the walls, where you can stroll through a labyrinth of narrow alleys, between white houses and beautiful churches surrounded by remnants of different civilisations. Numerous examples of religious and civil architecture from the golden era of the city provide plenty of reasons to visit.

Óbidos is also famous for its many events held throughout the year. The Medieval Fair (July/August) enables visitors to discover and experience the costumes and traditions of medieval times, giving you the impression of travelling back in time. Other events such as the Chocolate Festival, Holy Week or the Christmas city enhance even further a visit to this beautiful city. The traditional Ginjinha drink, a cherry liqueur, served in a cup of chocolate, will make this experience even sweeter.
