The MEO Rip Curl Pro Portugal returns to Peniche in 2026, with an event window scheduled from 16 to 25 October.

Part of the World Surf League Championship Tour, the event is scheduled to take place at Praia dos Supertubos, known for its powerful, tubular waves.

WSL Peniche 2026: key dates

The event window for the MEO Rip Curl Pro Portugal runs from 16-25 October 2026.

This does not mean that competition will take place every day.

Surf competitions depend on ocean conditions. During the event window, the WSL assesses the waves and weather before deciding whether competition will run, remain on standby or continue later.

Fans should check the official World Surf League website, app and social channels for the latest competition updates and the next confirmed call.

Supertubos: the centre of the action

Supertubos is closely associated with professional surfing in Peniche and is known for the tubular waves that gave the beach its name.

During the event, it becomes the main meeting point for competitors and surf fans following the Championship Tour.

But a trip to Peniche does not have to revolve entirely around competition days.
